Back in April I was hired to shoot Silvastones event at the 02 Islington in London. Working with DJ Moses Midas and also through the clothing brand Comme Moi. The event was a big line up of acts across the Afrobeats/RnB community, with the headline spot of renowned African artist/producer Silvastone.

The event itself was something I have never experienced before. A big difference from the rock gigs I'm used to, but none the less an amazing night and a breathe of fresh air. I would be lying if I weren’t having a little boogie at times. I have never been in such a crowed pit before, now the 02 Islington isn’t exactly small, but also it’s not exactly your Brixton 02 either. There were about twelve people in that pit at all times shooting. Limiting space and angles. Before the start I shot onstage for a few minutes with my 17-35mm of Moses Midas, using a little bit of flash to light the dark area to the side of stage. The rest of the night was shot on my Sigma ART 35mm , to bring out the colours in the lighting and Nikon 85mm for tighter crops. Enjoy the shots below.
