The good friends of mine in Captives asked me if I would go out on the road with them and cover them playing High 5ive Summer Fest 2019 this August, This involved 2 ferries, 5 countries, 32 hours travelling, countless McDonalds, lots of Mario Kart and a very warm van full of guys, and that was just on the way there. Love spending time with these boys and its always a good eventful time.

We got to the Stockholm a day earlier than they were playing so we could at least enjoy the festival without having to work and do things. We ended up pulling into Stockholm at around midnight bunking up ready to be fresh for day one of the festival, did we rest… nope. Myself Matt and Chris decided to do to a rave that we drove past. When in Stockholm I guess. Three drinks were £36. Enough said.

After our lovely 4 hours sleep we got up and were ready to have some fun at High Five. Of course McDonalds breakfast followed by a trip to Lidl to have a cashier laugh at me trying to pronounce the Swedish version of liquor store. We learnt a game called Kuub. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The food was good, the music was great. Shout out to The City is Ours, their set was sick. I ended up shooting for them and will cover that in another blog post.

Sunday morning, feeling fresh and ready for the boys to smash High Five. All of us taking a slightly more tamed approach to the day today. Lots of Kuub, prepping for the set. I’m sure you saw from my insta story, if you don’t have me its @charliebluck Plug Plug Plug. I caught Noija set. These boys have some right bangers and I would definitely check them out. After a few tech complications the boys in Captives were away. Always love their energy and crowd interaction. Matt even started a mosh pit mid song during the final song. To be then greeted with a pint at the end, you can see this in the video I made for them below. The Boys smashed it, the festival was great, I met some really cool people. I’d definitely come back. Followed by another 2 days travel to get back but was all fun and worth it.
