Alice & Ross // Hookhouse Farm Wedding

Hookhouse Farm Wedding Photographer

I first met Alice and Ross for their engagement shoot at the grounds behind the Royal Alexandra and Albert School, where they live on-site. We explore the grounds of Gatton park, around the lake and the Japanese garden. On the day of the wedding, Alice got ready onsite in the Gatton hall. A lovely setting for bridal prep. Ross got ready at his family home alongside his best man and brother. He was given a very special letter from his football team Tottenham Hotspurs.

The wedding ceremony was held at St John the Baptist, Outwood. A lovely little church down the country lane. The dark wood and the red really makes this location pop. Following on after confetti outside the church the wedding party made their way to Hookhouse Farm for the reception. Hookhouse farm has got to be one of my favourite venues that I have shot for the first time this year. beautiful garden space for the drinks reception, a lovely barn with contrasting dark walls to light wood beams. Surprisingly there was a lot of light coming in through the doorways, making lovely soft light rays. and my favourite part was the field of hay bales. When exploring the grounds while the wedding party was eating I knew that’s where I needed to take Ross and Alice for sunset. It was my favourite sunset session of the year. The colours popped, the warm oranges, and then Ross and Alice were amazing, they really looked in love and were so happy. I can’t believe they even climbed the hay bale trailer. I said it as a joke and they took it as a challenge. It’s not every day you see a bride so willing to climb up high in a wedding dress, not a worry about the possibility of it getting dirty.

The evening really went off. Cocktails flowing, and all the dance moves across the barn floor. The dark contrast of the barn really helped the dance floor vibes. Summer wedding’s can have the issue of not feeling dark enough to dance, leading to people drinking outside in the summer evening light, leaving the dance floors empty. But the dance floor was packed the whole time.

Enjoy the photos below, Ross and Alice’s Barn Wedding is up there as one of my top weddings of 2022.
