Jessie & Jim // Garden Wedding Bentley
Bentley Wedding Photographer
I first met Jessie back in August of 2020 while I was photographing for a clothing brand in London that she was modelling for. A year later I received a message from her asking if I was available to photograph her wedding. Fast forward to 2022 on a lovely July summer’s day in Bentley at her Grandparent’s beautiful garden, Jessie and Jim had their perfect garden celebrant. I wish all ceremonies would end with ‘I want it that way’ by Backstreet Boys being sung by everyone. I was definitely singing the ‘Tell me why?’ part behind the camera.
Following the ceremony, I took a photo of everyone. Now 200 guests in a garden aren’t always the easiest shot to make happen, but luckily there was an apple picker platform on hand to get high enough. I shot the rest of the group photos under a lovely tree, on the edge of some shade.
The drinks reception had everything you could want. Jenga, and other garden games, drinks on tap to help yourself and so many snacks, Always gotta love snacks at a wedding. Leading the guest to the next area of the garden to go sit down, we arrange to do confetti. It was a nice change to do it before the guests sit down as opposed to after the ceremony. After this, I took the couple around the garden for some couple photos. The garden was so well kept and I had so much to work with in terms of bushes, flowers, and rose arches. We then cut the cake before food. The couple opted for a Grazing table which is a feature I see at a lot of recent weddings, It’s a nice touch to have the help yourself and means you can eat as much as you like and not be limited to the chicken roast with one potato you get sometimes. After food, I took the couple into a field next door as the clouds were looking like it was possibly going to rain, so used the time window to capture some lovely moments in the long grass.
Following some heartfelt speeches, the dance floor opened and most of the crowd got up and threw some shapes. people taking shots, dancing in crocs, honestly this dancefloor had a lot. It’s always a great thing to see a full dancefloor. Ending the night I used the rope lights in the garden for a couple of photos. I messed around with one of my new prisms to get some qwerky light flares. Jessie and I were joking about some of the pose names I make up for clothing brand shoots. Playdough snake is my favourite. Jim asked me to direct him in some poses as a laugh, and now Jim is gonna be UK's next top model. I hope you have enjoyed reading a little bit about what happened at this wedding, here are some photos below from their gallery.
